ok as you said locum and sho jobs are easy to get in UK if one has a proper visa . could you please tell me if one is having HSMP visa for the last 3 to 4 yrs . can the HSMP visa be extended eaisly in uk ?
how about the visa part getting extension of the visa is a problem for docs who r doing sho /locum ?
I too know getting training post for overseas docs is highly difficult.

please can any one give the answers to the above questions.

Thank you.

Hi,
I am here in the UK for 1 and half year.
If you ask me, it is total waste of time and money.
We in India think life in west is better. A part contributed by Yash Chopra.
Its not.
These people are so clever in trapping people that you cant imagine.
Salary of a starting SHO £ 27000 pa. Salary of bus driver £25,000 pa. Salary of a nurse £35-45,000 pa.
All this because they know most docs are overseas and nurses British.

Remember, British people have been stealing from the world for the last 1000 years. They are so afraid of hard work they will go to any exent for this.

People who are here already cant say much as it also carries their reputation back home.
My advice Stay in India and do new things.
Or go USA.

the above post is a totally misrepresented ideas of a frustrated person.............if u see more recent post by so called docwell........he is asking for help regarding gmc registration!!

regarding salary...........totally false asweel..........sho salary is augmented by "banding" and you can find the details in bmjcareers website...........plenty of jobs available if you have the right visa! remember the most imp thing now adays is not mbbs not mrcp not anything else but a visa that helps u work in the Uk. obviously usa can be more lucrative choice for some ppl...........but ppl like me who just wont face the tougher working hours as a resident(atleast 60-65 /week) i would rather not go there as i hav a kid and a family, its not all about money!!

jobs are available and in many specialities in the uk but as always its the first job that is the most difficult to get........and invariably would be a non training trust sho post but dont be disheartened it all counts and if you stick around long enough you never know u might get a training rotation(like i did...........was stuck in a staff grade for 2 yrs but now again back in the st3 post and hopefully heading towards a good future)........dont get me wrong i am not saying its all rosey and easy but its not as bleak as the above poster paints it.......and by the way if you are not willing to take any risks you better stay back home and rott in soem crapp payin govt job anyways.......everything in life which is good has some risk and involves struggle.......and trust me while u r in the uk u WILL struggle in every steps.......getting plab..........getting attachments...........getting first job.........but in the end its a far better salary and far better quality of life

all the best
