45-year-old woman smoker, on steroids for seropositive rheumatoid arthritis, presents with cough, hemoptysis, and a perihilar lung nodule on chest x-ray. The best way to establish the diagnosis is

    1) tomography.
    2) computed tomography scan of chest.
    3) tuberculin SKIN test. *
    4) pulmonary function test.
    5) bronchoscopy.
