53 y/o female w/ lump in the neck she noticed it 1 mon ago,no associated pain ,pressure hoarseness.she feels fine no other complains.she has no h/ o radiation exposure.examination reveals palpable thyroid nodule app 3cm what will be the most appropriate next step in diagnosis?

Explanation :: 1st step is to do the ultrasound to see if it is cystic or soild
If it is cystic--->benign and --->disappears -->no need to do any thing
if it is solid <3m--->do FNA..If cytology is benign-->give thyroid hormoe to suppress the growth.
If growth is >3cm and solid--> do needle biopsy
If cytology is indeterminate or malignant--->surgical resection.
If cytoligy benign thyroid hormones are given.
