  19. micro array

see kapil mudith khanna is wright but real time pcr and real time rt-pcr are different. rt in real time rt-pcr stands for reverse transcriptase. so used for rna sequencing.micro arrays are dna based and are dna-
microarrays. i dont know about rna-micro arrays. :?:
  20. pulmonary fibrosis.

pulm fibrosis is seen in all except.
ans;methy sergide. i know u may say repeat and also given in kdt as methotrexate. acc to general medicine methotrexate cause pulm fib and

methysergide retroperitonial fib and so their use declined in uk.

so the paper is easy but not so.
  21. Guest

    methotrexate causes pulmonary fibrosis commonly
methylsergide causes pleural fibrosis and retroperitoneal fibrosis
    busulphan causes pulmonary fibrosis
hence drug not causing pulmonary fibrosis is methylsergide

4th option about melanocyte all except ? is i think acth inc and melanin dec or it was viceversa. thanks for radio-caries-30%.i was sure about it.dear guest can u tell me for cross-sec-occ-radio the correct option ???. for impacted canines this technique is especially used!!!. and 10%-20%of sailoliths are not detectable on this film!!!.

A method for identification of Streptococcus mutans colonies growing among other oral streptococci on mitis salivarius agar has been developed, wherein colonies of Strep. mutans stain dark pink when sprayed with solutions of mannitol or sorbitol and 2,3,5 triphenyl tetrazolium chloride, while colonies of the other streptococci remain blue.
my dear friend sayyed my name is navin mishra .i have been diassapointed
by ridiculous statement regarding me.i can also write abusive words like him.but my conscience will never allow me to do this.sai baba will take care of him.regarding cross sectional occlusal radiograph best option is
detecting salivary stones secondly impacted third molars
and occlusal radiographs specifically points buccolingual position of impacted tooth so in my opinion best answer is submandibular stones
secondly have u made incidence of dental caries i have made it correct answer is 38% what about u can u tell me about ovate or modified ridge lap and group discussion and symposium i am very much confused from our pg guide
  30. mksyeed

    mksyeed Guest

for caries 30% i have marked. acc to one guide it is 40%. but u said acc to journals it is 30%. so it depends on question what exactly it was ?
regarding pontic modified ridge lap may be right option. bcoz of esthetics. and refer park & park it is very clear the right option is group discussion.

laser device designed to detect the earliest stages of tooth decay could help dentists stop cavities in their tracks.

A newly developed laser device that uses thermal radiation and light waves to detect tiny, subsurface lesions in teeth could potentially unseat x-rays as the diagnostic standard in dental care.Researchers at the University of Toronto’s Centre for Advanced Diffusion Wave Studies say that the technology can spot lesions as small as 50 microns in between teeth, one of the most difficult spaces to spot cavities, and up to 5 millimeters below the surface of a tooth. This is well outside the boundaries of x-ray detection without exposing the patient to radiation. The researchers built a clinical prototype of the device this month and plan to begin clinical tests next year.

Detecting the earliest signs of decay could bring big changes to dentistry. “You need to lose about 30 percent of the mineral before you begin to see it on an x-ray; that’s why these new technologies are so exciting,†says Christopher Fox, executive director of the International Association for Dental Research, based in Alexandria, Virginia, and a 20-year industry veteran. “If we can detect early mineral loss, we have different intervention technologies we can use to prevent getting to that drill and fill point.â€

Fox calls Quantum’s approach “very interesting†but says that x-rays will always be needed to assess periodontal health, such as the deterioration of bone structure around the teeth
sse sayeed bhai i have copied and paste it for u dont go about mcq guides if all india pg setter is copying answers from pg guide even if they are wrong then god only can save us what u think the cutt off will be is 72% isnt enough to get a good rank this is from american dental issue from journal u can see it on net ie on dental blog again for best pontic asthetically ovate is best in having superio esthetics than modified ridge lap and also in cleaning purposes but it requires surgery hence is contraindicated in persons who dont want surgery then modified ridge lap will be the answer refer internet
  32. mksyeed

    mksyeed Guest

so the better option is modified ridge lap .thanks for 30%. even i marked the same . regarding cutoff im not sure.it may be anywhere.many of friends have done well.seriously im also concerned about it.if i say high it will be defnitely disturbing. another few days more lets hope the best for every one. navin im confused man. i have done karnataka bad, so im really worried about aipg. i will talk to u latter . good night .i have few questions to discuss .

navin can u tell me , what was the question regarding target-to-____distance. and its correct answer.these are easy questions which im confused with becoz i have not done many mcqs in my preparation and got screwed with easy questions.acc to one author , paccini standardised target to film distance to be approx 2m . 2m = 6 1/2 ft and 6ft =1.8mt=approx 2mt. acc to one guide the answer is 5 ft. but 5ft is the distance btw target to object distance. is it that obj-film distance is small and not considered ??? even im expecting cutt off should be low. whether 62% or 72% or _2% i really dont know man. if i know i wont be on this page. what i feel is that anyone who has done hardwork consistently with dedication should be through. and believe me my teacher say ''' hardwork will never go waste'''.

The two selective media that are widely used for isolating caries-related streptococci are based on Mitis-Salivarius agar and TYC agar to which the antibiotic Bacitracin is added (TYCSB). This suppresses the growth of most species but allows S. mutans and S. sobrinus to grow. The inclusion of sucrose leads to the formation of glucans and distinctive colony appearance that aids identification. Diagnostic kits designed for use in the dental clinic are also based on similar selective media so note that they are measuring total MS, not just S. mutans.
i think the color changes deep pink in ur extract are also due to strep.mutans only producing glucans DURING FERMENTATION while others not and remain blue. even in ur extract it is total MS, not just mutans. becoz s.mutans,, s.orchius[my spelling is wrong] ,, s.para ochrius,, etc comprisise MUTANS. ALL THESE SPECIES FERMENT SORBITAL AND MANNITOL.
this is just a form to disscuss and pls dont get misguided by me.becoz questions get repeating. if im wrong pardon me.

see syeed bhai targent film distance should be 5 feet plus 18 cm from mid saggital plane .but options was not given 5.5 feet should be the answer but 6 feet is correct .but i think that target object distance was asked.
regarding one physio question reptitive pain what u have answered
ans wiil be sensitization by no of receptors ie hypersensitization
a operator should stand atleast 6 feet
  37. mksyeed

    mksyeed Guest

for physio question , repetitive stimulus produce pain becoz, acc to ganong a subliminal fring is produced each time and though it cannot reach action potential , as the repetion is rapid they get added and latter shoot action potential.so the threshold is decreasing . i hope there was an option ,decreases threshold.
for sphygmomanometer whats the answer.and also for
distance btw upper and lower ----sulci in edentulous mouth ? i marked 42 cm. guess work. did u find out answer.
also for pharmac question, reaction by which drugs are made hydrophobic to philic and excreated ???
    1.glucoronide conjugation
    2.acetylation
    3.methylation
    4.hydroxylation.
  38. Guest

    Guest Guest

see bhai answer to syphgmonanometer is cuff at heart level
and symphgomanonometer at eye level of the observer to
stop confounding errors which might happen if placed lower
for edentulous right answer is 40cm
22m in max 18 mm in mand
    right answer is hydroxylation because
all the above options makes a hyrophlic substance not eliminated in phase 1 reaction to be eliminated by phase 2 ie glucordination methylation andacetylation so answer will be hydroxylation
what about incidence and caries i hink lot of guides has made a blunder
in giving ans 20% answer will be 38% what about ur thought
  39. mksyeed

    mksyeed Guest

for sphygmomanometer even i have opted for same.
40cm is on edentulous cast. but was asked in edentulous mouth . so physiologic rest position to be determined . which includes occlusal rim dimensions=40mm+free way space=2mm=42mm.if on cast then 40mm, if in mouth =42mm.but it may be either , depends on key.
ur correct about hydroxylation. but i have doubt, hydroxylation is the major phase-1 reaction by which the most of drugs are made usually inactive and eliminated. some drugs only involve methylation , and its a minor pathway. all the options are correct this way , but only methylation is minor one.but from ur point of view hydroxylation do not involve in elimination of drugs, all should pass thro phase-2 only. but certainly the odd one is hydroxylation.
are u sure about hypersensetization??? if so can u give reference.
  40. mksyeed

    mksyeed Guest

regarding incidence , gowri shanker only has mentioned as 38%. all other guides as 20%. i couldnot understand from gowri shanker actually what it meant . the question appered simple fro me , and so opted for 20%.is there any thing like point prevalance and period prevalance, for incidence also ???. incidence is simple , just new cases, if u have better view u can share. i have no idea in this topics.
