The crural index is the ratio of the length of the tibia (shinbone) to the length of the femur (thighbone). It measures relative limb length and is correlated with environmental temperature. Smaller values are associated with shorter limbs relative to body size. Populations living in warm climates tend to have high crural indices, and populations in cold climates tend to have low crural indices. The Neanderthal crural index is similar to that of the Lapps, who live above the Arctic Circle. That is, the Neanderthals had short, heavy limbs. This sharply contrasts with the crural indices of peoples living near the equator, where crural indices are very high.

CHILOTIC LINE---anthropometric line extending from the posterior aspect of the iliopectineal eminence to the closest point on the anterior auricular margin (the pelvic segment) and then to the iliac crest (the sacral portion); because the pelvic segment is predominant in females and the sacral segement is predominant in males, the chilotic index may be used in Forensic practice to identify the sex of human skeletal remains

    SPACE OCCUPYIN LESION --CEREBRAL ABSCESS

The symptoms of brain abscess are caused by a combination of increased intracranial pressure due to a space-occupying lesion (headache, vomiting, confusion, coma), infection (fever, fatigue etc.) and focal neurologic brain tissue damage (hemiparesis, aphasia etc.). The most frequent presenting symptoms are headache, drowsiness, confusion, seizures, hemiparesis or speech difficulties together with fever with a rapidly progressive course. The symptoms and findings depend largely on the specific location of the abscess in the brain. An abscess in the cerebellum, for instance, may cause additional complaints as a result of brain stem compression and hydrocephalus. Neurological examination may reveal a stiff neck in occasional cases (erroneously suggesting meningitis). The famous triad of fever, headache and focal neurologic findings are highly suggestive of brain abscess but are observed only in a minority of the patients.

MC Bladder cancer histology-- TRANSITIONAL CELL
In developed countries around 90% of bladder cancers are transitional cell carcinomas while the remaining 10% are squamous cell carcinomas and adenocarcinomas. Benign transitional cell papillomas have sometimes and in some places been registered as invasive carcinomas. This variation in registration practice has to be taken into account when comparing incidence and survival rates over time and place.6

Where the bladder cancer is associated with chronic bladder infection, most commonly with waterborne parasitic flatworms called schistosomes, the usual histology is squamous cell carcinoma. Schistosomiasis-associated bladder cancer has an earlier mean age at onset, typically in the fifth decade of life, and tends to present at a later stage than transitional cell carcinomas.

Socratic method---- MOSTLY LECTURE I DON REMEMBER THE OPTIONS. THIS IS REF FROM NET
The method of teaching in which the master imparts no information, but asks a sequence of questions, through answering which the pupil eventually comes to the desired knowledge. Socratic irony is the pose of ignorance on the part of the master, who may in fact know more about the matter than he lets on.

Mr Kunal, why r u posting my post as urs? I have posted all these MCQs before u. U r just copying them & posting them using ur name. At least mention it before ur post.
& more important is not to post the same posts again & again. u r wasting time of others by making them to read the same old post
